Kansas City is a city in the U.S. state of Missouri. The city’s tap water was recently rated the cleanest in the United States. The vibrant city is home to a host of activities for young and old with a healthy mix of arts and innovation alongside its cowboy roots and haute couture.
The city is home to many parks including Swope Park, which comprises an extraordinary 1,763 acres. The grounds include a zoological park, two golf courses, a lake, an amphitheatre, day-camp area, and numerous picnic grounds. While it may appear as if the land is heavily developed, this is only correct for a small part of the land. Most of the land is wooded, which makes the park perfect for exploration and beautiful forest walks.
Kansas City is situated in “Tornado Alley,” a broad region where cool air from the Rocky Mountains collides with warm air from the Gulf of Mexico. This leads to the formation of tornadoes and powerful storms. Kansas was the home to Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz who was snatched up by a tornado and transported to a world of wicked and good witches, a talking scarecrow, a cowardly lion, a tin man who wants a heart and more.
